As a long-time fan of the Solo Leveling webtoon, I was very happy to see it hit the big screen
Tale
More than a decade after the 'gates' connecting worlds emerged, the 'hunters' awakened with superpowers, the weakest hunter, Sung Jinwoo, encounters a dual dungeon and accepts a mysterious quest that will make him the only one able to level up, changing his fate.
The film opens with an hour-long recap of Season 1, which, while a bit lengthy for my taste, served as a good introduction for newcomers
I brought a friend who hadn’t seen the first season, and to my surprise, he followed the story without any problems – although the transitions between scenes and episodes seemed a bit abrupt, even for me.
They were breathtaking
After the recap, the real highlight begins: the first two episodes of season 2 (presumably).
Sony’s collaboration was evident in the polished production
The animation and design perfectly captured the essence of the webtoon, and delivered the same thrilling, high-quality visuals that fans have come to love.
For fans and newcomers alike, it’s a fantastic appetizer for what’s to come
This theatrical event has me excited for the upcoming season, and I can’t wait for it to hit Crunchyroll.
