My eyes were completely glued to the screen from start to finish while watching this film. The amount of scenes with zero dialogue that had so much atmosphere and emotion was simply incredible. Cillian Murphy is absolutely amazing in this movie, as I expected him to be. But the emotions he shows in this movie and the way he acts through his body language and facial expressions are simply amazing. He is truly one of the best actors of this generation. Emily Watson is powerful as the Mother Superior. The tension he brings to every scene is amazing. It really shows how terrifying some of the nuns were back then. This movie was a perfect length of 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was so immersed in it that it even felt long. The score and cinematography were so simple yet so effective. They both added so much to the movie and gave it the finishing touches it needed. Overall, this movie was absolutely amazing and a very enjoyable watch. I would love to see more movies like this in the future. Even though it has a dark side, it was also nice to learn more about the history of my country.
